First coffee, then more than enough

Every week I do my best to share a powerful tool (book, podcast, article, recommended event or other resources), to help you get inspired and ready to take definite action in your live.

I deliberately use the word ‘inspired’ instead of ‘motivated’ because inspiration moves me to action, while motivation sometimes feels far away and out of reach. Especially when we are going through difficult times, it’s hard to justify feeling motivated, and to give ourselves permission to keep going. Inspiration feels right.

This week’s source of inspiration, is a book called More Than Enough: Claiming Space for Who You Are (No Matter What They Say) by Elaine Welteroth.

“In this part-manifesto, part-memoir, the revolutionary editor who infused social consciousness into the pages of Teen Vogue explores what it means to come into your own—on your own terms.

Welteroth moves beyond the headlines and highlight reels to share the profound lessons and struggles of being a barrier-breaker across so many intersections. As a young boss and often the only Black woman in the room, she’s had enough of the world telling her—and all women—they’re not enough. As she learns to rely on herself by looking both inward and upward, we’re ultimately reminded that we’re more than enough”

I love this book. It is authentic, it is vulnerable, it is uncomfortable, it is powerful.

“When your dreams are bigger than the places you find yourself in, sometimes you need to seek out your own reminders that there is more. And there is always more waiting for you on the other side of fear.”
